Dataran
Merdeka
Bangunan
Sultan Abdul Samad is the most impressive architectural
feature of the Dataran Merdeka or Merdeka Square. Dataran
Merdeka looks very pretty at night and the street is closed
on weekend nights so people can wander freely. It was
here the Union Jack was lowered on 31st August 1957 and
the Malaysian flag raised to mark Malaysia's independence. |

Roti
Canai & Teh Tarik
You will never die of hunger in KL.. there are just too many
eating places sprouting at every little corner. My favourite
haunt is Kampung Bharu famous for it's Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa.
Bangsar is a another great "lepak" place. Sip
a glass of Teh Tarik and dig into a plate of roti canai
while you chat with friends and do people watching. |

Putrajaya
Putrajaya is located approx. 40 Km south of Kuala Lumpur and
consists by 70% of green areas and water bodies. There
are administrative buildings such as the Prime Minister's
office complex, the residence of the Prime Minister of
Malaysia and the impressive Putra mosque, which incorporates
Islamic architecture elements from countries such as Turkestan,
Kazakzstan and Morocco.
Tips: You can give the wetlands a miss. |
